Parallel Dimensions at its Best
Kubrak does a wonderful job creating believable characters – both human and alien. He also does something which I believe is difficult to do. He takes a real location (in this case Jersey City, N.J.) and has it blend in seamlessly with his fictional characters and concepts.

Fun Read.
I like this story a lot. This is one of the rare occasions when I’ve read a novel and actually wished it was longer. There are some things that were touched on briefly that I wish were explored more deeply, especially some of the tech. The characters are interesting. The good thing about them is they are consistent behaviorally and each add something to the plot. There’s a lot of imagination in this as well. I’ll refrain from dropping spoilers. I’ll just say that I think you’ll enjoy it. Looking forward to more from the author.

Great story
A perfectly paced tale, told with flare. The book has a feeling of classic sci-fi about it, and the worlds that are on show here make for a lot of fun to imagine. As a character, Jessica’s intelligence shines. She’s a prodigy, but she’s relatable, and by the end of the story, you’ll be rooting for her with bated breath.
If you crossed Stargate with The X Files, you might have a rough idea of what to expect. I look forward to the sequel.

I enjoyed this novel of portals and the process of how Jessica Chao became “unbound.” It was fun and thought-provoking, filled with amusing and fascinating characters. I liked the dimensional-travel aspects. The book was imaginatively creative, with splashes of humor combined with nice action and a twist near the end.

“The Jessica Unbound” series begins with this book, leading into its first sequel, “Jessica Unbound: Gaia,” which is now available. I am currently writing the third installment, “Jessica Unbound: World’s Fair.”
Like much of my work, this novel evolved from a shorter story titled “Pocket Problems,” which appears in this novel as two chapters. Originally, “Pocket Problems” gained acclaim from fellow authors, inspiring me to expand it into a full-length novel. Unexpectedly, this short story grew into a trilogy totaling 240,000 words. This first novel lays the foundation for the metaverse, a recurring element in my work that has inspired numerous other stories. Although most of my work interconnects, understanding one piece is not necessary to enjoy another.
